Obamistan! It's the nation you've always dreamed about. damali ayo's sarcastic and insightful new book guides you through the new utopia that America has become – a land without racism!
The book uses eyewitness testimonials, pop quizzes, news clippings and Twitter feeds to tell citizens how to navigate America now that a Black man is in charge and the country has left racism and prejudice in the dust. The manual explores all the hot button issues of yesteryear – immigration, healthcare, gentrification, reparations, holidays and toilet paper.
ayo is the author of "How to Rent a Negro" and creator of rent-a-negro.com, a satirical website dealing with issues of race. She will be in Portland to sign and talk about "Obamistan!" at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday April 28 at Powell's City of Books on Burnside.
She will be in Seattle at the Elliot Bay Book Company, 1521 10th Ave. at 2 p.m. on April 26.
