Fans of Michael Jackson are planning a 50th birthday celebration for the artist, with all funds benefitting Sisters of the Road and the International Center for Traditional Childbearing. The event is Saturday, Aug. 23 from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. at the Romansion, 5239 NE Garfield St., with music provided by DJs Mr. Brown, Sesqui and Jamilah Bourdon. Celebrations include a dance contest and a costume contest. Admission is $3 to $5 at the door, over-21 only.
