The 12th Annual Vancouver, WA. Wine & Jazz Festival Aug. 21-23 features vocal jazz, New Orleans, Latin, fusion and pop/crossover artists.
The slate of major bands includes Grammy-winning artists - as well as some of the music icons of the past 40 years: WAR, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Judy Collins, Spyro Gyra, Rita Coolidge, Allen Toussaint, and 4-time Grammy-winning trumpet virtuoso Arturo Sandoval.
In addition to the great music, the Festival features over 200 wines from around the world. Attendees can sample wines, or purchase a glass to sip with food from 9 restaurants. Cuisine ranges from Northwest shrimp and crab to gourmet pizza to Tex-Mex. Art lovers can shop the 50 fine artists from California, Idaho, Washington & Oregon.
Over the past 11 years, the festival has presented artists such as Blind Boys of Alabama, Take 6, Ramsey Lewis, The Yellowjackets, Kenny Loggins, Poncho Sanchez, Dr. John, Mavis Staples, The Rippingtons, Eddie Palmieri, Bo Diddley, Melissa Manchester, Spanish Harlem Orchestra, Los Lobos, Arturo Sandoval, Jose Feliciano, David Sanborn, The Temptations, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Regina Carter, Chuck Mangione, Bela Fleck, Stanley Clarke, Jean-Luc Ponty, Chick Corea, Booker T Jones, Diane Schuur, and others; as well as over 150 Northwest jazz bands.
Ticket prices are: Friday $20; Saturday $25; Sunday $25. 3-Day passes are $50 advance, $60 gate. Tickets can be purchased at TicketsWest, www.ticketswest.com or 503-224-8499 or 1-800-992-8499. Seating is General Admission. Blankets & low-back sand chairs are encouraged. NO outside food or beverages allowed. Kids under 12 are free with paid adults.
