Local hip hop artist Luck-One is holding and headlining a special show on July 1 with performances by Seattle's Grynch, Sole Provider of the group Levelheaded, and Matty. House music will be provided by Animal Farm's Gen. Erik and it will be hosted by Kenny Mack.

The show – "Dollar Dollar Bill Y'all" – is all ages and only one dollar. It'll be held Thursday, July 1 at Salmon Street Studios, 109 S.E. Salmon St. in Portland.
"I really wanted to do something different in Portland," Luck-One told The Skanner News.
While seeing a similar one-dollar show in Seattle by Grynch, Luck-One decided to take the idea to the Rose City. With Grynch's blessing – and participation – he hopes to showcase burgeoning talent to a wide audience to strengthen the scene.
"When I chose the lineup, I looked at their performances, I looked at the music I respect, at people who were trying to establish themselves," he said.
By holding an all-ages show, Luck-One hopes to open the live-music scene to a demographic typically ignored in a town full of venues that only allow 21 and up.
"Those kids are the ones you want to hear the music," he said. "They're not so jaded."
Although Luck-One says he doesn't aspire to be a promoter, he says he got frustrated with the current system of shows and decided to hold his own.
"I'm more interested in creating a community of musicians," he said.
