The Skanner News opened its doors in October of 1975. Since that day, we have told the often overlooked stories of Black and minority communities in the Pacific Northwest. Having been on the frontlines in the fight for equality for all we have covered education, economic development and police accountability.

Our stories are your stories. We have been honored to share your lives, your works of art and your businesses. It is your ideas that guide us in “Challenging People to Shape a Better Future Now.”

We are celebrating 40 years of service, and we want to hear from you, our readers. We want to know what The Skanner News means to you.

Send us a note, a story, a memory; tell us how The Skanner News has impacted your life. Your words may appear in a special 40th Anniversary edition of The Skanner News paper. Use Facebook to comment below, tweet us at @TheSkannerNews or send an email to Arashi@theskanner.com to tell us your Skanner story.
