Montavilla Jazz Festival
Published: 24 March 2018

Attendance and ticket revenue for the 2017 Montavilla Jazz Festival were at the highest levels in our the festival’s history. The boost in ticket revenue means that this year MJF's small grants program, the Montavilla Schools Music Fund, is granting a total of $2,500 to our four neighborhood public schools: Bridger, Creative Science, Harrison Park, and Vestal.

Montavilla Jazz Festival works closely with each school to make sure the grant application process simple and straightforward. This year's grant awardees will be announced in April.

Previously funded projects include:

  • Vibe of Portland music programming at Creative Science School
  • Rock band instruments for Vestal School
  • After school guitar classes at Bridger School

With the Montavilla Schools Music Fund MJF hopes to make a difference in our community by ensuring that students have access to music education in school.
