The Portland Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is hosting the 37th Women of Excellence Awards and Scholarship Luncheon, Saturday, May 19, 2018, at 12 pm at the Doubletree Hotel by Hilton Portland. The Women of Excellence Luncheon will honor outstanding women from Portland/SW Washington who are accomplished in areas surrounding the sorority’s programmatic initiatives.

This year’s honorees include Renee Watson (Arts), Lindsey Murphy (Education), Paula Hayes (Entrepreneurship), Qiana Toure (Health & Wellness), Antoinette Edwards (Social Justice), and Dorothy Davis (Pearls of Wisdom), with special guest speaker, Portland Police Chief Danielle Outlaw.

During the Women of Excellence Luncheon, Portland Alumnae’s scholarship committee, together with Piedmont Rose Connection, Inc., will present the 2018 scholarship award recipients. The awardees were selected by first submitting a completed application, meeting all of the application requirements, including enrollment in a four-year college or university in the fall of 2018.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization founded at Howard University in 1913 by 22 collegiate women. For the past 105 years, Delta’s purpose is to provide assistance and support through an established 5-point Programmatic Thrust.
