Portland Police detectives have released sketches of a suspect in an assault on a woman. The assault took place just after midnight on March 26 at North Larabee and N. Interstate.

Police say the woman was walking on the north sidewalk of N. Larabee St. toward N. Interstate when a man approached her and asked for money and food. He then pushed the woman down, threatened to sexually assault her, and punched her in the face.

The woman was led to believe that the man might have a gun in his pocket. Nevertheless she defended herself and the man ran away.

Two sketches picture the suspect's face and the back of his head. He is described as a Hispanic or Pacific Islander male around 30, 5 foot 5 ins. tall and around 170-180 pounds. He has short brown hair, brown eyes and was dressed in a white sweatshirt and black pants.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Detective Jason Christensen at 503-823-0894.

The victim in this case is not available for interviews.
