A celebration for people of African descent from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25 at Seattle Central Community College's Student Activity Center, 1718 Broadway St., Seattle.
Known as The African Heritage Unity Celebration, this event is designed to build community, connect for dialogue and work together for benefit of all — including African Americans born and raised in Africa and African Americans born and raised in the United States.
Frances Carr of the Seattle Chapter of The Links, Inc. – an international group dedicated to providing friendship and service to African American youth and families — and Peter Gishuru of the African Chamber of Commerce of the Pacific Northwest, are leading this effort.
The event features traditional food, music, dance, displays, performances and speakers – including King County Executive Ron Sims. For more information, call the African Chamber at 206-256-6139.
