NEW ORLEANS (AP)   Mychal Bell, the only member of the Jena 6 to have his case resolved, has written a blog in which he says he now realizes he "should have done what Dr. King preached, which was nonviolence.''
Bell and five other black youths were originally charged with attempted murder after an attack on a white schoolmate. He eventually pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor second-degree battery charge. The other cases are still pending.
On his blog, Bell says that in the small central Louisiana town of Jena, where he grew up, he always felt that black people and white people didn't get along.
He says he will graduate in May and attend a four-year university on a football scholarship.
Bell is expected to blog regularly on the Web site, Global Grind, said Pamela Lipshitz, a spokeswoman for the site.
