It happened Sunday on a flight from Everett, Washington, to San Francisco. The plane diverted to Portland, Oregon, where it was met by law enforcement officers.

Tens of millions in the Americas will get front-row seats for a rare “ring of fire” eclipse of the sun. An annular solar eclipse will briefly dim the skies over sections of the western US  on Saturday.
