Breaking Generational Curses: This Therapist Grandmother Teaching Her Grandson How to Set Boundaries Will Make Your Day

Josiah wanted to open a toy so he asked endlessly for help. When his grandfather raised his voice, he was heartbroken! According to Josiah’s mom, he's a calm kid who doesn’t get in trouble very often so it’s better to go easy on him during discipline.

Just like most grandmothers, his came to the rescue! She didn’t just soothe his hurt feelings, she also taught him how to articulate how he was feeling to his grandfather. "Say, 'Papa, I don't like it when you yell at me because'..." and he finished her sentence with, "because you make me sad." She applauded him for quickly learning the lesson on assertive communication. 

These new skills will take him far in life. Good for you, Josiah!
