The Skanner News hosts two live Primary Election forums in partnership with KBOO Community Radio, Wednesday, April 14 and Wednesday, April 21. Both events run from 8 -9 a.m. and can be heard on 90.7 FM, or streamed online at www.kboo.fm .
In addition we are asking all candidates for office four questions about their campaigns – and we would also like our readers to answer these same questions and send them to us at info@theskanner.com or post them to our website, www.TheSkanner.com .
In our street edition this week, and online, we'll be reprinting some of your answers alongside the candidates' answers for a look at how your opinions stack up with your future elected officials. The questions are listed below.
Starting this Wednesday morning, the Skanner News is pleased to partner with KBOO for live talk radio with two of the biggest slates of candidates – and most important races – in the May 18 primary. The format for both will be listener call-in hosted by The Skanner News Editor and KBOO radio producer Lisa Loving.
The first live forum features candidates for Portland Commissioner Seat #3, currently held by Commissioner Dan Saltzman, who has confirmed he will be participating.
All the other candidates confirmed still in the race will be participating, including Spencer Burton, Jesse Cornett, Ed Garren, Martha Perez and Mary Volm.
The forum scheduled for Wednesday, April 21 will be for candidates in the race for Multnomah County Commissioner District #2.
Confirmed participants include Karol Kollymore, Tom Markgraf, Loretta Smith, Gary Hansen, Maria C. Rubio, and Chuck Currie.
The Skanner News will be announcing our candidate endorsements for the May 18 Primary Elections on Earth Day, April 22. The Skanner News will be making joint endorsements along with the Asian Reporter. Stay tuned to hear our picks for office.
