A Multnomah County Grand Jury issued a "no true bill" Tuesday, Feb. 9 against the officer who shot and killed Aaron Campbell. The finding means Officer Ronald Frashour will face no criminal charges for shooting Campbell in the back during a confrontation on Jan. 29.
The grand jury did find some troubling aspects of the case and will be presenting a letter to the public, as reported by The Oregonian. Both District Attorney Michael Schrunk and Police Commissioner Dan Saltzman say they want the grand jury transcripts to be made public.
A news conference and picket line will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Feb. 11 at the west front steps of the Justice Center, 1120 SW 3rd Ave.
