Your teen athlete may be at risk for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, a rare, easily-overlooked health problem that can strike down affected young athletes in their prime.
This Teen Athlete Cardiac Screening is performed by cardiologists, pediatricians, EKG technicians, nurses and other health care providers. The screening includes an EKG, height/weight, body mass index, and a cardiac physical exam.
Screening results are reviewed on-site, by physicians and nurses that volunteer for this event. Participants must be accompanied by parent or guardian.
Funded by the Children's Heart Program at Legacy Emanuel Children's Hospital and the David Heller Foundation.
