Mos Def closed out the fantastic Soul'd Out festival Saturday at the Roseland. Starting his set with 'All the way Turnt Up' – Roscoe Dash's big hit last year – he played to a packed house, showcasing his incredible versatility, freestyling, drumming and seeming to enjoy the party as much as the dancing crowd. DJ OG One showed himself the consummate professional as he entertained the crowd before Mos Def took the stage. The incredible New Orleans- based Hot 8 Brass Band kicked off the event with a powerful set. Mos Def's latest album is 'The Ecstatic.' And that people is what we were.
