For the first time in 27 years, "Hello, Dolly!" is returning to the 5th Avenue Theater's stage. Opening night for musical is Thursday, March 12 at 8 p.m.  Performances are running now through March 29, with opening night at 8 p.m. on March 12.

The play is about Dolly Gallagher Levi, a matchmaker who is hired to arrange a marriage for the miserly half-millionaire Horace Vandergelder, she finds him the perfect mate – herself! But first she must win the heart of her unsuspecting "husband to be" before he gets hitched to somebody else. The original Broadway production won ten 1964 Tony Awards®, including Best Musical (a record that was only surpassed four decades later, when The Producers won 12). Brimming with joyful familiar tunes, from "Before the Parade Pases By," "Put On Your Sunday Clothes," "It Takes a Woman" and "It Only Takes a Moment" to the irresistible title song, "HELLO, DOLLY!"

Leading the long-running, Tony Award-winning musical hit is Jenifer Lewis as Dolly, who has returned to Seattle to play the title role. Local television favorite Pat Cashman co-stars as the wealthy yet grumpy bachelor Horace Vandergelder. Rounding out the cast is Suzanne Bouchard as Irene; Julie Briskman as Ernestina; Mo Brady as Barnaby; Matt Owen as Ambrose; Tracee Beazer as Minnie Fay; and Krystle Armstrong as Ermengarde.

Lewis joins a long list of famous performers to play the matchmaker. She also recently ended a starring role as Motormouth Maybelle in "Hairspray." She's also acted in other Broadway plays including "Eubie," "Comin' Uptown," and the original workshop of "Dreamgirls." She's worked in many films including "The Antwon Fisher Story," "Dead Presidents," "Poetic Justice," and Pixars "Cars." She will be appearing in the upcoming film "Not Easily Broken," a film based on T.D. Jakes' novel.
