Seattle, WA -- Lime and King County Elections have announced that Lime will provide free rides on its e-scooters and e-bikes to and from drop boxes, Vote Centers, or a post office now through Election Day, November 8. The offer of two free rides of up to thirty minutes - one for each way to and from a drop box, Vote Center, or post office - is available on any Lime e-scooter using the code LIMETOTHEPOLLS2022. This promotion is also available to voters in Portland.
“We are proud to do our part to increase voter turnout in Seattle this year and we are excited to offer free rides to pretty much anywhere a voter can drop their ballot from now through Election Day. We know how important it is for residents to have affordable and accessible transportation options to go and return their ballot. We’ve spent this year expanding our efforts to break down barriers to access to that transportation to and from ballot drop off locations or polling places across the country. Lime to the Polls has been hugely successful in the past and we’re excited to double down on it in Seattle this year by including the early voting period,” said Hayden Harvey, Senior Manager of Government Relations at Lime.
“At King County Elections, we work every day to remove barriers to voting and help make sure that every voter can make their voice heard. We are thrilled to partner with Lime to make sure that voters have a variety of ways to get to a drop box, Vote Center, or post office to return their ballot,” stated King County Elections Director Julie Wise. “This promotion is live now so don’t wait for Election Day to return your ballot! Go to a Vote Center this weekend if you need in person assistance, or get that ballot returned to a drop box as soon as possible.”
