Self Enhancement Inc. hosted a women’s luncheon with the theme “We Are Overcomers” Feb. 28. The luncheon was dedicated to the restoration of women who have been harmed by human trafficking, mental illness, sexual trauma, drug addiction, HIV/AIDS, homelessness, teen pregnancy, domestic violence, cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. It featured presentations and performances from Victoria Schoeffermann, Justice Adrienne Nelson, Javelin Hardy, Libra Forde, Carla Davis, Linda Hudson and Demetrius and Sarah Herring. Among those honored was Telia Anderson (pictured here).

“The African American Women’s Luncheon which culminated in SEI’s Black history month on February 28th was a celebratory event that honored women that overcame challenges and barriers in their lives. This event reminded all in attendance that with strength, courage and support one can be empowered to move mountains,”  said Carla Penn-Hopson, major gifts officer at SEI.
