Alberta Commons is holding a grand opening celebration Saturday in honor of its three newest businesses owned by Black and Indigenous people of color: Cason’s Fine Meats, Champions Barbershop and greenHAUS Gallery + Boutique. The Dream Street Community Market will feature food, drinks, art, music, makers, entertainment and community. This event is open to the public, and all ages are welcome.

The grand opening starts at 10 a.m. and lasts until 3:30 p.m. July 20 at 5015 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. At 1 p.m. there will be remarks from Cole Reed, owner of greenHAUS Gallery + Boutique and emcee; Jamal Fox, deputy chief-of-staff for Mayor Ted Wheeler; and Phillip Brown, executive vice president of Majestic Realty.
