Metro Seeking Input from Vanport Community

As part of the Expo Future project, Metro is now collecting online input from the Vanport community about how to honor or memorialize the Vanport history and community at the Expo Center site. The online input site is available through September 2 and creates the opportunity for even more folks to share their perspective on the project.

This input is being gathered on behalf of the Expo Future Historical Significance & Memorialization Committee, including Cochair Ed Washington and members Kim Moreland and Laura Lo Forti.

All input will be compiled anonymously, then shared with the Historical Significance & Memorialization Committee as it develops its recommendations for honoring each community’s history and culture at the Expo Center. These recommendations will be presented to Metro leadership in early December. With their approval, the project will move into more detailed planning in 2025.
