The Columbia City Gallery is hosting a Silent Auction by Secret Bid of Gallery Artists' Work. This is an opportunity to collect work from your favorite local artist. Artwork in the auction can be viewed in the gallery between Jan. 21 and Jan. 31 and on their website, www.ColumbiaCityGallery.com.
The Auction Kick-Off is on Saturday, Jan. 24 from 5 to 8 p.m. (simultaneously with the Artists' Reception). This event is free and the public is encouraged to attend. The gallery is located at 4864 Rainier Avenue South, in the center of Historic Columbia City. The Columbia City Gallery is an artists' cooperative and a program of SEEDArts. The gallery receives support from 4Culture, the Mayor's Office of Arts and Cultural Affairs, and the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation. Gallery hours are Wednesday through Saturday, noon to 8p, Sundays, 10a to 6p, closed Mondays & Tuesdays. Minimum bids will be set by each artist. Bids will be accepted Jan. 21 through 31, 2009. Bids may be made in person, on the phone or via email. Winners will be notified on Feb. 2.
