The Youth Bill of Rights Mural at Trillium Charter School was painted in the summer of 2011 by mural artists Jesus García and Margret Harburg happily assisted by children aged from 4 to 19.

"We are very proud to call North Portland our home and the youth asked me to represent what the neighborhood means to them." - Jesus García, lead artist

The mural's theme is the Children and Youth Bill of Rights. In 2006, Portland create "Our Bill of Rights: Children and Youth" later adopted by Multnomah County.

"We are helping make the bill or rights a reality in our community because many people are not even aware that there is a Children and Youth Bill of Rights; this mural will help to create awareness amongst the youth but also amongst adults."- Anayeli Franco

In early 2011 students from 6 schools in North Portland provided ideas and sketches to cover the 25' by 30' wall.

"We needed to give the young people in our community a sense that they can be part of a positive change." - Edward Gutiérrez of North Portland Youth Initiative

The Blue Faith Youth group of Holy Cross Parish and supportive adults pursued grant funding and got $500 from Multnomah County Youth Action. The Mural is also supported by the City of Portland, Portland Community College, Santa Fe Taquería, Winkler Development, Latino Network, Trillium Charter School, and the Regional Arts and Culture Council.

Trillium Charter School is at 5420 N Interstate Ave, just South of Killingsworth
